Holland is a painter, cartoonist and teacher. He has had a one man show every year since 2000 in the Reno area. His specialties as a painter include landscapes, and old buildings. He strives for a certain "sparkle" to his loose, boldly executed paintings. Holland is working on a line of note cards that will celebrate an old building from every town in the state of Nevada, as well as the wild parts of Northern California. Holland has won many awards with his painting, including a Professional Artists grant from Sierra Arts, a Best of Show at Faces and Places 2006, and several awards from the Nevada Artist's Association. Holland has also done several murals in Alaska and in Nevada. He is currently working on a Wheeler Peak mural on Elmcrest Elementary in Reno, Nevada. |
